Privacy

The short version: nothing you type into a Plainfigure calculator ever leaves your device. No account, no upload, no server storing your income.

What the calculator does with your numbers

Every figure you enter — your profit, salary, filing status, income — is processed entirely inside your own web browser. None of it is sent to Plainfigure or to anyone else. There is no server that receives it, because the calculation runs on your device.

To save you re-typing, the calculator remembers your most recent entries using your browser's local storage, which lives only on the device you used. It is never transmitted anywhere. You can erase it any time by clearing your browser's site data for this site.

The one thing we count

We keep a single anonymous tally of how many people click the "Unlock Pro" button, so we can tell whether a paid version is worth building. It's just a number going up — no personal data is attached to it, nothing identifies you, and it isn't tied to anything else you do on the site.

What we don't do

No accounts or logins. No advertising trackers. No selling or sharing of personal information. We don't build a profile on you, and apart from that anonymous click count, we don't receive your data in the first place.

If and when you buy Pro

If you purchase a paid feature, the payment itself is handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and processes your payment and applicable sales tax. The billing details you enter at checkout are handled by them under their own privacy policy; Plainfigure receives only what's needed to confirm your purchase. If you email us, that message is delivered through an email-forwarding service. These providers process that information on our behalf.

Your choices and contact

Because your calculator data stays on your device, you're already in control of it — clearing your browser data removes it. For any privacy question, or to ask what we hold (for most people, nothing), email hello@plainfigure.tax.

Plainfigure is a neutral planning tool. This page describes how the site handles data; it isn't legal advice. Depending on where you live, you may have specific privacy rights — contact us and we'll help.
